About 4 Quarters
4 Quarters began with Allen "Almax" Maxwell II, Alohndra "Babie Gurl" Brown and Joseph "Joey Max" Maxwell III as they began their journey with 4 Quarters after their unforgettable “J5 birthday celebration,” which derived from the sharing of the same birthday—-January 5th, to kick off the 2014 New Year. As a result of this came Western New York’s most successful power couple Allen "Almax" Maxwell II & Alohndra "Babie Gurl" Brown. For this celebration, they personally hand-picked unique talents to put on an amazing and dynamic show, including Rap/Hip-Hop, R&B, Neo Soul, Poetry, and Dance performances. Due to the celebration huge success, it sparked an idea that would change their lives, as well as the lives of others, forever.
The two Buffalo natives decided to start an organization where they would showcase and promote talents from WNY. With the two sharing similar visions and having a strong passion to change lives for the better, bring forth a positive presence, and give back to their community, established the foundation for the couples vision. They wanted to create something so powerful that it would undeniably spread like wildfire all over the world. This meant that they would have to put a hold on their own careers for a while in order to focus their attention on helping other artists gain exposure.
They began their 4 Quarters vision by holding auditions for artists of all genres of music, skills, and talent. Each act would be critiqued and scored by 4-5 judges based on 6 (six) categories: Style; Appearance; Substance; Crowd Pleaser; Sound; and Creativity. Auditions are held to provide an unbiased opportunity for each artist to be featured in the showcases. The couple wanted to do something that no one in WNY was doing, especially since Buffalo had gained the reputation that artists don’t support other artists.
With this vision, the power couple decided that they wanted to expand their horizons by not limiting their movement to just music and entertainment but changing their community as well, through Arts, Education, Culture, Networking, Mentoring, Fundraisers, Workshops, and Modeling to name a few. With all of the negativity that’s going on in the world today, a little Hope and Encouragement could Change/Save lives, minds, and outlooks on life. These two Beautiful individuals have the right kind of hearts, the passion, and the drive that can make this possible. Almax and Babie Gurl are living examples of that old saying, “All our dreams can come true, if we have the courage to pursue them.” 4 Quarters is living proof of that!!!
